Character History
Arkuros was born on a small island in a rather remote part of the world, and island that has a culture very similar to that of ancient greece. When he was a young boy, he was constantly picked on by several bullies until one day he snapped and kiled one of them by tackling him and pounding his head into mush with a rock - always a believer in the goodness of all people, he was horrified at what he had done in that moment of rage - and vowed to never let himself get carried away like that again - when he sought out his father, hysterical and bloodstained, his father was angry, yet felt for his young son, he knew something had to be done, for if arkuros remained, he would be taken by the authorities - therefore he sadly sent his son off to a nearby island to be raised at the temple of apollo - there arkuros found the enlightenment and guidance he was seeking, and began to come to terms with his own inner demons - he enjoyed his life there at the temple, but he felt something was missing from his life - one of the head priests of the order understood this and came to him, telling arkuros that he must seek wisdom, that he must go on a journey to discover that which he was looking for, and return when he felt the time was right. so he packed his few meager belongings, and arranged for passage to the manland aboard a trading vessel, he had little money, but payed his way with his service, helping out where neccessary with the running of the ship, and using his great healing skills, both mystical and mundane, when needed. he then embarked upon his quest for enlightenment.

he travelled north with a traders caravan, stopping at a rather large trade city that sat at the southern end of the lake, along the river leading to the sea - here he stopped off at an inn, where a large drunken man who was causing trouble for the only waitress attempted to pick a fight with him - remaining calm he called upon appolo's divine power to non-violently defuse the situation and cast the spell "instill fear" upon the drunken brute, causing him to turn pale and run from the tavern as fast as he could - this understandably caused a small stir in the establishment, but arkuros simply sat himself down and had a small meal of soup, bread and water - the barmaid offered to let him eat for free, for helping her out with the drunk, but arkuros slipped a gold piece under his bowl when he was finished - he and the woman began talking and he found out that her father, who had gone for some supplies, had not yet returned, and she was worried about him, but she could not close the bar to go look for him - after getting some quick directions, and a description of her father, arkuros offered to find out what had become of him
